The book addresses changes and evolution in architectural education from the 1950’s to present day from a viewpoint of a former university professor. Educational policies and pedagogical platforms from several eras are discussed in contrast with changes in social attitudes, and ideologies along with the influence of university politics. Insight is provided into admission criteria for students, hiring and retention of faculty, evaluation procedures for faculty and deans, the process of granting tenure, changes in grading of student work over several decades and changes in social norms of students. Concepts of faculty tenure, and, promotion and tenure review are discussed.
