When there is a serial rapist targeting college students, Brock Mcclellan is paired up with Holly Cavanaugh, who is a recent transfer to his precinct. Brock is drawn to her immediately, but Holly makes it clear she isn't interested in a relationship and wants to keep theirs strictly business. Brock is determined to find some way to break down her defenses until they are partners in bed as well - no matter what. Recently coming off of a bad breakup, Holly is adamant that she doesn't have time for relationships, and what better way than to get involved in a complex serial rapist case to keep her mind off of men. That is until she meets her new partner Brock McClellan. Her body's reaction to him when they were introduced was warning enough for Holly - now she just has to convince her mind to ignore those feelings and focus on the case at hand. When Holly puts herself in harm's way and becomes 'the bait' for the rapist, they both come to realize how deep their feelings for each other run.
