Engaging with Reality

Every experience that comes our way is known to God. This includes all our illnesses, and even our most dreadful difficulties. Scripture tells us to give thanks to God in all circumstances, and to let everything we do be for the glory of God. Engaging with Reality accepts Paul's injunction to use divine power to demolish strongholds, and arguments, and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and to take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. Radical implications are revealed in the light of Jesus' command to love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind, and to love your neighbour as yourself. It is through our relationships that our minds are made up about the reality we face. Relationships depend upon who is worshipped. Truth is found through relationship. Engaging with Reality is critical of secular and humanistic philosophies that underpin our over-dependency upon facts and academic institutions and scientific technologies. The book traces a different thread of Judeo-Christian spiritual understanding, which is bearing fruit these days despite secular opposition and theological indifference. The aim is to encourage people to call on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth and stand firm in the shaking. In the battle for hearts and minds, ultimate victory will be won by facing reality in godly truth.
