Bonnie from Blue Mountain

"These books are all historical fiction, dating from 100 to 400 years ago and are of interest level 7 to 10 and up. Bonnie, from a mountain farm in Arkansas, has a special friendship with a very smart horse who assists Bonnie with her work. The horse, Buttercup, is necessary for Bonnie, because of a foot injury. There are neighbor boys close by who share in the fun and danger of living in the mountains.
